An interactive documentary project made in unison with Yrjö Tuunanen. The Finnish EU referendum was approaching, and our goal was to illustrate questions related to rural areas in a way that people appear in staged settings in their home environments. Methodically the work was based on previous experience with interactive documentary photography. Hay on the Highway has been exhibited in 34 private and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad and published as a book. It won The European Photography Award 1993 in Germany.
